Rejected by carriers? The website is one of the most common reasons. Fix it today →

This page is for 8x8 Work admins in the US and Canada who need SMS turned on, or whose campaign came back rejected. 8x8 Work sends texts from local US and Canadian numbers. 8x8's FAQ says toll-free and virtual numbers cannot be used for SMS in 8x8 Work, so this is a 10DLC registration.

10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by 8x8. Provider names are used only to describe where information goes. This page describes the flow as documented at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Screens change, so follow what you see in your account.

Which registration does 8x8 use, and who submits it?

8x8 uses A2P 10DLC through The Campaign Registry (TCR). You submit it yourself in 8x8 Admin Console with full administrator access. 8x8 says carriers approve or reject campaigns, not 8x8. Its support team does review your campaign before it goes out and tells you when the carrier responds.

The campaign use case is fixed at UCaaS Low Volume, because 8x8 Work SMS is built for conversational business texting.

Where do the website URLs go in 8x8's registration?

8x8's form has fewer URL fields than many platforms. The website goes in the brand form, and your opt-in and privacy links go inside the text of the campaign form.

Item Where it goes in 8x8
Business website Your Brand form, Website field. 8x8 says it must be live and public, and the brand name on the site must match your registration exactly.
Opt-in page (Contact Us) Your Campaign form, Call-to-action field. 8x8's web-form template includes your Contact Us page link.
Privacy policy Referenced in the Call-to-action text. Its link also goes in the SMS disclaimer on your form.
Terms and conditions Linked from your opt-in form (code CR4007). 8x8 says a Contact Us disclaimer can stand in if you have no terms page.
Support email Your Brand form. 8x8 says to use an address at your brand's domain, not Gmail or Yahoo.

The flow, based on 8x8's docs:

  1. Put the SMS disclaimer and the privacy statement live on your site first. 8x8 says not to proceed until both are public.
  2. Open Admin Console, Phone System, SMS.
  3. Complete Your Brand with details copied from your IRS EIN letter, then save.
  4. Once the brand is Verified, write a campaign description of at least 40 characters.
  5. Add the call-to-action, opt-in, opt-out and HELP messages, content attributes, and sample messages.
  6. Tick the fee acknowledgment, save, and tell your 8x8 support contact it was submitted.

What does 8x8 check on your website?

8x8's registration article names two website items as the most common reasons campaigns are rejected:

  • An SMS disclaimer on your Contact Us form, placed just above the Submit button. It names your brand, says texts may be sent, mentions message and data rates and frequency, gives STOP and HELP, and links your privacy policy.
  • A privacy statement saying no mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.

Beyond that, 8x8's prerequisites ask for a valid online presence, a privacy policy that explains how you collect, use and share data, and matching business name, phone and address.

Why was my 8x8 SMS campaign rejected?

8x8 publishes a rejection code reference for Admin Console registrations. Here are the codes tied to your website, paraphrased, with the page that explains each fix.

CR3008, CR3012 to CR3015 Lead generation, gambling, high-risk finance, illegal substances, SHAFT Prohibited content

8x8 says disallowed-content rejections are permanent and cannot be resubmitted. Its reference points to Sinch's disallowed content policy for the full list. For all other codes, fix the issue and resubmit. See campaign rejected: next steps.

How long does review take, and what does it cost?

8x8's articles give a range. One says verification can take up to 3 weeks. Its configuration article says up to 4 weeks and that manual approval may take up to 30 days. Its registration article adds that each rejection adds at least two weeks.

On cost, 8x8 lists a one-time $89 USD registration fee (CA$121 in Canada) plus taxes, charged by US wireless carriers, at the time of writing. 8x8 says it absorbs the monthly campaign maintenance fees. The fee appears on a separate order invoice. 8x8's articles do not list a resubmission fee. Check with 8x8 before you resubmit.

8x8-specific gotchas

  • No EIN, no SMS. 8x8 says it cannot support SMS campaigns for customers without an EIN, including sole proprietorships.
  • Copy the legal name exactly. 8x8 says a second line on the IRS letter is part of the name, and "ST" instead of "Street" can fail verification. See brand and EIN mismatch.
  • Brand-domain support email. Free email domains may cause rejection.
  • 48 numbers per campaign by default. Ask 8x8 support for more after approval.
  • Assign numbers after approval. SMS does not work until you assign phone numbers to the verified campaign.

How do I get a website that passes 8x8 review?

  1. The site is live, public, and shows your exact brand name. See brand name match.
  2. It shows your services, address, phone and email. See business contact info and content pages.
  3. It loads over https. See SSL and HTTPS.
  4. The privacy policy has the no-sharing statement. See privacy policy.
  5. SMS terms name your brand and cover frequency, support, STOP, and a privacy link. See SMS terms.
  6. The Contact Us form has the SMS disclaimer above Submit and an unchecked box. See opt-in form.
  7. It is not parked or "coming soon." See no parked sites.
