This page is for Keap users whose texts are blocked, pending, or rejected. Keap's help content now lives in the Thryv Help Center. Keap is clear that these checks come from US carriers, not from Keap.
10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Keap or Thryv. Provider names are used only to describe where information goes. This page describes the flow as documented at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Screens change, so follow what you see in your account.
Keap uses different paths for its two numbers. You fill in the verification form inside Keap, and it goes to the upstream carrier for review.
| Keap number | What it is for | Number type | Verification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Keap Marketing Number | Text broadcasts and automations | Toll-free 1-800 only | Toll-free message verification. The form appears the next time you send a broadcast. |
| Keap Business Line, local | One-to-one calls and texts | Local 10-digit | Business registration with EIN. Texts are blocked until approved. |
| Keap Business Line, toll-free | One-to-one calls and texts | Toll-free | Toll-free verification. No EIN needed. Sending is limited while pending. |
Keap says the Marketing Number cannot be a local number or a short code. So if your broadcasts were declined, you most likely went through toll-free verification, not 10DLC. The website checks are nearly the same. See toll-free verification. Keap's own toll-free article points readers to Twilio's toll-free verification guide for the carrier rules.
For the Marketing Number, the Toll-Free Message Verification form opens automatically when you try to send a broadcast. For the Business Line, you submit the business verification form. Keap lists these items for a local number:
| What you provide | What Keap says about it |
|---|---|
| Legal company name | Must exactly match IRS or CRA records |
| EIN or Business Number | Required for local numbers. SSNs are not accepted. |
| Company information | Country, legal address, business phone, and business website URL |
| Organization type and industry | Public, non-profit, or private (such as an LLC), plus your vertical |
| Primary contact | Name, title, address, email, and phone |
| End recipient consent | How you get consent: implied, verbal, or written |
| Messaging examples | Sample texts. Promotional or informational samples should end with an opt-out line. |
To check where you stand, go to the profile icon, then Settings, then Text Message Verification.
The Thryv help center, which now hosts Keap's help, lists three things carriers require before approval:
Keap adds a sharp warning for local numbers: if your registration points to a website without visible opt-in and opt-out language, carriers will reject it.
Keap does not publish a code list. Its articles name these causes:
| What went wrong | Fix |
|---|---|
| Legal name does not match IRS or CRA records | Brand and EIN mismatch |
| SSN used instead of an EIN on a local number | Brand and EIN mismatch |
| Website has no visible opt-in and opt-out language | Opt-in not verifiable |
| Privacy policy or terms do not mention text messaging | Privacy policy missing SMS |
| Terms missing how to opt out | Missing SMS terms |
| Incomplete or inaccurate business info | Missing contact info |
| Restricted content such as CBD or SHAFT categories | Prohibited content |
Keap says a rejection notice includes the reason. Minor data errors can be fixed with help from Keap support and resubmitted. Content violations may not be eligible for resubmission.
Keap says both local and toll-free verification take 1 to 2 weeks. The difference is what happens while you wait:
Your status moves from Not Verified to Submitted (edits allowed) to Pending (edits locked) to approved or Rejection. Keap does not list a separate verification fee in these articles.
10DLC Site builds these pages and gives you the URLs to enter in Keap's verification form. You still submit the verification yourself, and carriers make the final decision.
Included in your Registration Kit: your consent description and messaging examples written for your use case, plus your website, privacy policy, terms and opt-in page URLs and business details, ready to paste into Keap's verification form. Build my order →

A new .com with hosting, SSL, a privacy policy that covers SMS, SMS terms and a compliant opt-in form, built to the requirements on this page. You submit your own 10DLC registration, and no one can guarantee approval, but a reviewer will have nothing on your site to flag.
