Rejected by carriers? The website is one of the most common reasons. Fix it today →

ClickSend is a business messaging platform for SMS, MMS, email, and API sending. In the US it offers 10DLC numbers, toll-free numbers, and short codes, and all of them need carrier verification before you send. This page is for ClickSend users who were rejected or are about to register.

10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by ClickSend. Provider names are used only to describe where information goes. This page describes the flow as documented at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Screens change, so follow what you see in your account.

Which registration does ClickSend use, and who submits it?

ClickSend lets you pick the sender type, and you start the registration from your dashboard. For 10DLC you register a brand and campaign and get a TrustScore. For toll-free you complete toll-free verification. ClickSend's team reviews toll-free forms and contacts you if something needs fixing.

Sender type Where you start Registration time (per ClickSend's US page)
10DLC Sender IDs > Buy a Number 1 to 3 business days
Toll-free Sender IDs > Buy a Number > Register in the TFN column 1 to 7 business days
Short code Contact support 8 to 12 weeks

The website checks for toll-free are close to 10DLC. See toll-free verification.

Where do the website, privacy policy, terms and opt-in go in ClickSend?

Both forms ask for your website and for links to your Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. The toll-free form also asks for your exact opt-in wording and proof.

Item 10DLC form Toll-free form
Website Website address, publicly accessible Company website or social media link, public and active
Business email Business email Support email that matches your website domain
Terms & Conditions Link required Terms & Conditions URL, publicly accessible
Privacy Policy Link required Privacy Policy URL, publicly accessible
Opt-in Opt-in method with links and examples Opt-in method, exact opt-in wording, and proof (screenshot, form, script, or POS)
Sample messages Part of campaign details 1 to 3 samples with brand name and a STOP option
Business ID Tax ID / EIN Business registration number (EIN) and registration documents

ClickSend's US page also lists a "message and data rates may apply" disclosure for toll-free and short code. Put it next to your opt-in checkbox. See opt-in form.

What does ClickSend check on your website?

ClickSend's 10DLC guide says the website must be publicly accessible and include a business description, contact details, a privacy policy, and terms and conditions. Its toll-free guide adds a specific privacy statement and the September 2026 rule on live policy pages.

Make sure your site has:

  • A business description that matches your legal name. See content pages.
  • Contact details and a support email on your domain. See business contact info.
  • A privacy policy stating that text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with third parties. See privacy policy.
  • Terms and conditions with your SMS terms. See SMS terms.
  • An opt-in with a visible, unchecked checkbox that users must tick themselves. See opt-in form.
  • No password wall. See website not accessible.

Why was my ClickSend registration rejected?

ClickSend's 10DLC guide lists its common rejection reasons. Its toll-free FAQ says a team member emails you with what to correct, and you can resubmit.

ClickSend reason (paraphrased) Fix page
Improper consent, such as a pre-checked box Opt-in form
Missing Tax ID or EIN Brand EIN mismatch
Website missing a privacy policy Privacy policy missing SMS language
Website missing terms and conditions Missing SMS terms
Password-protected website Website not accessible
No valid opt-in method (toll-free) Opt-in not verifiable
Prohibited content, such as high-risk financial services, SHAFT, or third-party lead generation (toll-free rules) Prohibited content

If your 10DLC campaign got a low TrustScore rather than a rejection, ClickSend says to check your registration details. You may be able to update them and improve the score.

How long does review take, and what does it cost?

For 10DLC, ClickSend says review typically takes 24 to 48 hours, and numbers usually go live 2 to 3 business days after approval. For toll-free, it reviews within 24 to 48 hours of receipt and verification usually finishes within 7 business days once carrier review starts. You cannot use the toll-free number until ClickSend emails you.

On cost, ClickSend's 10DLC cost article says US campaigns carry a monthly campaign fee, each linked 10DLC number has its own monthly cost, and carriers add surcharges per message. Canada has no campaign fee. The article does not publish dollar amounts, and ClickSend does not publish a resubmission fee. Check your dashboard or ClickSend's pricing page for current numbers.

What ClickSend gotchas should I know about?

  • The September 1, 2026 policy rule. Toll-free registrations now need live, public Terms and Privacy Policy pages. A link to a draft or a PDF download is risky.
  • Support email must match your domain. For toll-free, ClickSend asks for a support email that matches your website.
  • One campaign per number. A 10DLC number can link to only one active campaign at a time. ClickSend says mixing message types can lower your TrustScore.
  • Up to 21 numbers per campaign. Each linked number is billed monthly.

How do I get a website that passes ClickSend review?

  1. Show your legal name and a clear business description. See brand name match.
  2. List contact details and use an email on your domain. See business contact info.
  3. Publish a privacy policy with the no-sharing statement. See privacy policy.
  4. Publish terms with SMS details. See SMS terms.
  5. Add an opt-in form with an unchecked box and rates disclosure. See opt-in form.
  6. Keep the site public and on https. See SSL and HTTPS.
  7. Remove any parked or "coming soon" page. See no parked sites.
