Rejected by carriers? The website is one of the most common reasons. Fix it today →

This page is for local and multi-location businesses that use Birdeye for reviews, webchat, and texting. Birdeye says any business sending SMS to US numbers through a platform must complete A2P 10DLC registration, including Canadian businesses that text US numbers.

10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Birdeye or Twilio. Provider names are used only to describe where information goes. This page describes the flow as documented at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Screens change, so follow what you see in your account.

Which registration does Birdeye use, and who submits it?

Birdeye uses A2P 10DLC. You fill out Birdeye's form, and Birdeye submits it. Birdeye's FAQ says it sends your A2P Customer Profile to Twilio, and Twilio sends it to TCR. Resellers can register clients on their behalf, and Birdeye offers white-label forms for that.

Because the path runs through Twilio, the Twilio rules in our Twilio guide are a useful reference.

If you do not register, Birdeye says your number cannot receive texts. Birdeye routes outgoing texts through a shared toll-free number and adds "Sent via Birdeye" to each one. That is a fallback, not your own verified number.

What goes into Birdeye's 10DLC registration?

Item What Birdeye asks for
Business name and address As on your official records
Industry and business type Pick the closest match
Website Your business URL
Registration type Low Volume, Standard, or Sole Proprietor
EIN Required except for sole proprietors without one
Text opt-in process How customers agree to get texts
Contacts Two business contacts

Birdeye's FAQ does not list separate privacy policy or terms URL fields. Reviewers use your website URL, so those pages should be easy to find from the homepage.

What does Birdeye (and Twilio) check?

Birdeye's FAQ explains the vetting. Twilio sends Standard brands to secondary vetting, which gives a score from 0 to 100. Smaller businesses with less presence get lower scores. Birdeye says Sole Proprietor and Low Volume brands do not go through secondary vetting. See brand vetting.

Your website is a big part of your footprint. It is where a reviewer confirms your name, address, and services match the form.

Birdeye's best practices article covers the opt-in side:

  • Written consent first. Get explicit consent before you text.
  • Unchecked box. The opt-in checkbox must be unchecked by default. See opt-in form.
  • Disclosures. Say how often you text, and include the required disclaimers and a link to your privacy policy. See privacy policy.
  • Keywords. List opt-in keywords such as JOIN or YES. The reply should name your brand, state frequency, and explain how to opt out.
  • Not consent. Birdeye says using a service, making a purchase, or being on another list is not permission to text.

Why was my Birdeye 10DLC registration declined?

Birdeye names two common causes in its FAQ. Its best practices article adds opt-in problems to avoid.

Cause Birdeye names What to fix Fix page
Data discrepancies with official records Match legal name, address, and EIN exactly Brand EIN mismatch
Small brand footprint Give reviewers a real site with services and contact details Content pages
Use case mismatch Make the campaign match what you actually send Sample messages mismatch
Missing business name or opt-in language Name your brand and add clear opt-in wording Opt-in not verifiable
Missing opt-out language Add STOP to your first message and terms Missing SMS terms

How long does Birdeye review take, and what does it cost?

Birdeye's registration article says processing takes 3 to 6 weeks. Sole proprietors without a tax ID must reply YES to a confirmation text.

At the time of writing, Birdeye lists:

Plan Who it fits (per Birdeye) Fees listed by Birdeye
Low Volume Fewer than 5 locations with an EIN, up to about 6,000 texts a day $19 one time + $1.50 per month
Sole Proprietorship Businesses without an EIN $19 one time + $2 per month
Standard 5+ locations, Mass Texting add-on, or over 6,000 texts a day $59 one time + $10 per month

Birdeye's help center does not list a separate resubmission fee. Check Birdeye's current help center before you act.

What Birdeye details trip people up?

  • Two help articles, slightly different wording. One describes plans by daily volume, another by locations and add-ons. Ask Birdeye support which plan fits you.
  • Low footprint hurts Standard brands. A thin or missing website lowers your vetting score.
  • Re-attempts need fresh data. Birdeye asks for up-to-date information when you retry.
  • Shared-number fallback. Texts from the shared toll-free number carry "Sent via Birdeye," not your own number.

How do I get a website that passes review?

  1. Show the same name you registered. See brand name match.
  2. List services and contact details. See business contact info.
  3. Serve pages over https. See SSL and HTTPS.
  4. Publish a privacy policy with a no-sharing statement. See privacy policy.
  5. Publish SMS terms. See SMS terms.
  6. Add an unchecked SMS opt-in box. See opt-in form.
  7. Keep the site live. See no parked sites.

10DLC Site builds these pages and gives you the URLs and details to enter in Birdeye. You still fill out and send the registration yourself, and carriers make the final decision. If a reviewer flags your website, we fix the website free.
