ActiveCampaign registers A2P 10DLC from SMS > Registration. On the Opt-ins step you link your SMS privacy policy and terms of service and pick one primary opt-in method, such as a website form. ActiveCampaign says the privacy policy needs a no-sharing statement for mobile numbers, message frequency, and a message and data rates disclosure.
This page is for ActiveCampaign users who bought the SMS add-on and want to text US contacts. ActiveCampaign says all customers sending to US numbers must register. You get a dedicated 10-digit number once you do.
10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by ActiveCampaign. Provider names are used only to describe where information goes. This page describes the flow as documented at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Screens change, so follow what you see in your account.
ActiveCampaign uses A2P 10DLC. You complete the registration form inside ActiveCampaign, and an admin must do it. ActiveCampaign says campaigns are manually vetted by its "upstream Connectivity Partner" and that ActiveCampaign does not control the review. It does not name that partner in the articles we read.
Registration covers two things:
This process is only for ActiveCampaign's native SMS. If you text through a connected third-party SMS app, register with that provider instead.
Go to SMS > Registration and click Register for the United States. The form has six steps.
| Step | What you give ActiveCampaign |
|---|---|
| Business Information | Legal business details, Business ID Type, and your Tax ID or EIN |
| Account Owner | Name, email, phone, and job title |
| Opt-ins | A link to your SMS privacy policy and terms of service, plus your primary opt-in method |
| Use cases | A description of how you will use SMS, 2 sample messages, and whether messages include links or phone numbers |
| Get your number | Your area code |
| Review | A final check, the acknowledgment box, then Submit registration |
On the Opt-ins step, you choose one primary method: website, paper form, text keywords, or other. ActiveCampaign then asks for more detail based on your choice. It allows screenshots instead of URLs if needed. If your main method is a website form, a public URL to the live form is the clearest proof.
ActiveCampaign's best-practice article sets the privacy policy bar. It should include:
Its SMS requirements article lists what your opt-in flow should show:
ActiveCampaign also says general consent to receive messages does not count as a valid SMS opt-in. The consent must be for the specific SMS program.
ActiveCampaign does not publish a code list. It says a failed registration shows a red callout box that explains what is wrong and where to fix it. These are the causes its articles point to:
| What went wrong | Fix |
|---|---|
| Legal name or EIN does not match IRS records exactly (for example, a missing "LLC" or "Inc.") | Brand and EIN mismatch |
| Wrong business type selected | Brand and EIN mismatch |
| Privacy policy lacks the no-sharing, frequency or rates wording | Privacy policy missing SMS |
| Terms of service do not cover the SMS program | Missing SMS terms |
| Opt-in method is vague or cannot be verified | Opt-in not verifiable |
| Sample messages lack your business name or opt-out language, or do not match the use case | Sample messages mismatch |
| Public link shorteners in messages | Sample messages mismatch |
To fix an error, go to SMS > Registration, click Review Business Information in the red callout, update the details, and click Resubmit brand information. See also campaign rejected: next steps.
ActiveCampaign's registration article says review can take as long as 5 to 7 business days. Its Getting Started article gives a shorter estimate of two business days. Plan for the longer one. After approval, ActiveCampaign's compliance team manually reviews your first few messages, which can take up to two business days. ActiveCampaign does not list a registration fee in these articles, so check your SMS add-on pricing.
10DLC Site builds these pages and gives you the URLs to paste into ActiveCampaign. You still submit the registration yourself, and carriers make the final decision.
