What are Verizon's 10DLC fees, and why are my texts to Verizon blocked?

Quick answer

Verizon only delivers business texts from 10-digit numbers registered as a 10DLC brand and campaign. At the time of writing it charges $0.0045 per outbound registered SMS, rising to $0.005 on October 1, 2026, with no fee on inbound texts. Verizon does not publish throughput tiers and relies on content filtering, so what you send must match what you registered.

This page is for businesses that text Verizon customers from a local 10-digit number through a provider such as Twilio, Telnyx, or Bandwidth. You register with your provider. Verizon then applies its fees and filters to the traffic that reaches its network.

10DLC Site is not affiliated with or endorsed by Verizon. Carrier names are used only to describe how traffic is handled. This page describes Verizon's handling of 10DLC traffic as documented by major providers at the time of writing (Updated September 2026). Fees change often, so confirm them with your provider.

Does Verizon require 10DLC registration?

Yes. Telnyx says that from February 3, 2025, unregistered 10DLC traffic is blocked altogether. On Twilio, a message sent from a number that is not linked to an approved campaign fails with error 30034.

Verizon does not accept registrations from businesses. Your provider submits your brand and campaign through The Campaign Registry, and reviewers in that chain decide whether it goes live.

What does Verizon charge for 10DLC traffic?

Verizon charges a fee on each outbound text. Your provider passes it to you. These amounts come from Bandwidth's carrier surcharge table (updated September 16, 2026) and Telgorithm's report on the October change.

Verizon fee Amount at the time of writing Effective
Registered 10DLC SMS, outbound $0.0045 per message May 1, 2026
Registered 10DLC SMS, outbound (new rate) $0.0050 per message Oct 1, 2026
Inbound SMS No Verizon fee
10DLC MMS, outbound $0.0070 per message May 1, 2026
Unregistered 10DLC SMS $0.0100 outbound (this traffic is now blocked) Jul 1, 2023

Telgorithm says the October increase is Verizon's second outbound SMS increase in five months. It works out to about $500 more per million texts sent to Verizon customers. It also applies to toll-free and standard-rated short code traffic. These fees are separate from the one-time brand fee and monthly campaign fees your provider charges.

Does Verizon limit how many texts I can send?

Verizon does not publish throughput numbers for 10DLC. Telnyx's developer docs say Verizon uses content-based filtering rather than stated rate limits. Texts that match your registered use case are generally delivered without throttling.

That is different from the other two large carriers. T-Mobile sets a daily cap by vetting score, and AT&T sets a per-minute limit by message class. Your provider may also set its own limits, so check your account.

What content does Verizon filter?

We could not find a public Verizon 10DLC code of conduct like the ones T-Mobile and AT&T share. Providers apply the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and the industry's banned content list to Verizon traffic. CTIA says senders should prevent content that is unlawful, deceptive, harassing, or that does not meet age-gating rules.

In practice, Verizon traffic gets filtered for the same reasons as other carriers:

  • Texts that do not match the campaign's registered use case
  • Public link shorteners. CTIA says a shortener should use a domain dedicated to the sender.
  • Links to sites that do not clearly name the owner. CTIA says linked sites should identify the owner and include contact information such as a postal address.
  • Banned categories such as cannabis, debt relief, or third-party lead generation. See prohibited content.

What do reviewers check on your website?

Verizon does not publish its own website checklist. Your campaign is reviewed by your provider and partners in the registration chain before it reaches carriers. Twilio says The Campaign Registry captures a screenshot of your site and checks it against the 10DLC rules. Telnyx lists mismatches between brand, website, and sample messages among common declines.

Reviewers look for:

  1. A live, public site that matches your registered business. See brand name match.
  2. Business contact details. See business contact info.
  3. A privacy policy that says you do not share mobile numbers.
  4. SMS terms and a visible opt-in form.
  5. Services that match your campaign description and sample messages. See sample messages mismatch.

My texts are blocked. Is that different from a rejected campaign?

Yes. A rejected campaign was never approved. A blocked text failed after it was sent.

What you see Likely cause What to do
Campaign status is rejected or failed Registration, website, or content did not pass review Follow the rejection triage
Twilio 30034 Number is not linked to an approved campaign Finish registration and attach the number
Twilio 30007 Content was filtered Compare texts to your registered use case and samples, and remove public shorteners
Only Verizon texts fail Content or link pattern Verizon filters Test a plain text with no link, then add your own-domain link back

For filtered texts, Twilio asks for at least three failed message IDs when you open a support ticket. Do not rotate to new numbers to get around filtering. CTIA and the carriers treat that as abuse.

How do I get a website that passes review for Verizon traffic?

  1. Put your legal business name and contact details on a live site.
  2. Link to your own domain in texts, not a public shortener.
  3. Publish a privacy policy with a no-sharing statement.
  4. Publish SMS terms with frequency, rates, and STOP and HELP.
  5. Use an opt-in form with an unchecked consent box.
  6. Serve every page over https.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Verizon charge per 10DLC text?

Bandwidth lists $0.0045 per outbound registered SMS from May 1, 2026, and $0.0050 from October 1, 2026. Telgorithm reports the same change and says inbound texts carry no Verizon fee. Outbound MMS is $0.0070. Check your provider's current pricing page.

Does Verizon have a daily message cap for 10DLC?

Verizon has not published 10DLC throughput numbers, according to Telnyx's developer docs. Telnyx says Verizon relies on content-based filtering instead. Your provider may still set its own sending limits.

Why are my texts to Verizon customers filtered when my campaign is approved?

An approved campaign does not stop filtering. Messages can still be blocked if they drift from the registered use case, use public link shorteners, or draw complaints. On Twilio, filtered messages show error 30007.

Does the Verizon fee increase apply to toll-free and short code too?

Yes. Telgorithm says the October 1, 2026 increase to $0.005 per outbound SMS covers 10DLC, toll-free, and standard-rated short code traffic sent to Verizon customers.

Does Verizon have its own messaging code of conduct?

We could not find a public Verizon 10DLC code of conduct like the ones T-Mobile and AT&T share. Providers apply the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices and their own content rules to Verizon traffic.

No. You fix and resubmit through the provider you registered with. Verizon does not take 10DLC registrations from businesses directly.
