Definition: An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is a 9-digit federal tax identification number the IRS assigns to businesses and other entities.
Your EIN helps confirm that your business is real. When you register a standard brand, your provider sends your legal name and tax ID to The Campaign Registry. If the two do not line up with IRS records, your brand can come back unverified.
